And much like their often maligned counterparts, they’ve had a difficult time putting forth a terribly compelling album in this style, though they’ve carried it a bit better and have avoided becoming too similar to the dregs of recent American screamo outfits such as Trivium and Killswitch Engage.

Album 2 The second half of this release is rather interesting. You might think 2 CDs with 20 songs might have a lot of filler that gets boring, but I would argue that is not the case. Part of this is that the sheer magnitude of material seems to trend towards a lot of ‘strong’ songs as opposed to a few great ones. In fact, I find myself being drawn to the heavier songs like “Leech” and “Parasite Blues” thanks to the percussive assault alone – even if a dearth of keyboards should theoretically sound the death knell for said tracks. It is the band’s first double album. The six guys from Infjnite, France, and Belgium simply released a double-record with eight-five minutes of music and a total of twenty tracks.
Prices may vary for AK and HI. This album is no question Soilwork’s best and most diverse album yet thus far, doilwork it shows an absolute perfect blend of brutality and melody throughout with all 20 songs flowing ever so perfectly from one song to the next. Melodeath isn’t known for reinventing the wheel. And yet, for all the dynamic wealth of the album, it remains steadfastly consistent.
